Star Gillorie (she/her) joined us this Spring ‘22 semester as a fiction student. She is a musician and worked with sound and film; she also holds a PhD in Vedic Science from MIU. Her multi-media background and multi-cultural background gives her unique opportunities to explore multi-media literature. We can’t wait to read more of her essays and stories!

Star Gillorie, PhD, is in her first year of the MFA Creative Writing (Spring 2022) program. She has a doctorate in Maharishi Vedic Science (2020) from Maharishi International University with a study on the effects of Maharishi Gandharva Veda as an intervention for the behavioral symptoms of Alzheimer's dementia. She has a background in media production with BA in Film and Media Arts from Temple University (2003) and is a certified audio engineer (2007), drum set artist, and background performer. She is currently a student in the Fiction workshop with Dr Susan Smith Daniels bringing her experience in writing for media and the lore of her life back around to long-form writing to create bring life to her stories.
