Angela Sickler

Angela Sickler (she/her) came to our program in Spring ‘21 as a fiction student. She also writes powerful creative nonfiction and hybrid pieces about family memories and history. Angela already holds a graduate degree in Literature, English from the Loyola University Chicago. She also studied at Mount Holyoke College and has TA experience in our undergraduate department, plus teaching experience elsewhere.

Angela’s favorite focus is speculative fiction and sci-fi fantasy. She weaves elaborate universes out of thin air and knows how to tell a tale and hold suspense. Her personal narratives are raw and honest, always perfectly poised on the edge of truthtelling, beauty, and heartbreak. She has a very perceptive eye for detail and a powerful meta-cognitive ability to know her own process.
